To
get the texture set, simply click on the image and select "Save"
in the subsequent window

Where the downloads do not contain an installation guide, please read my generic "read me" here. Note also that the Iris Simulations Eagle comes in three flavours. Christen Eagle I, Ia and II - the "I" refers to single seat and the "II" refers to two-seat so when you DL these skins, you should look at the pictures as well so that you can see what version is painted. The Ia appears to be a female pilot version. The paints are not interchangeable between the I and the II versions. For instance: The wing struts and panel lines are mapped differently. |

A note about propellers: Occasionally
I forget myself (sorry folks) and forget to add the propeller textures
to a livery. If you download a paint and the prop textures are wrong,
simply go to any of the IRIS aircraft that they delivered and copy the
four textures that have "prop_****.dds" as their name. |

This paint was created for the chaps at vfr-flightsimmer. If you do not already know them, their logo is a Kingfisher, which I adapted in this paint instead of the "Eagle" logo. |

This is a renewed version of my FS9 paint depicting a German Eagle flown by Ernst Haug and sponsored by Caroll's Disco in the town of Fronlach - somewhere in deep and darkest Germany... |
You may have noticed that waving flags tend to appear on quite a few paints. Here's one with a slightly fading union flag. I found the slightly paler and duskier blue suited this plane better than Royal Blue, so artistic license won over. |

"Three Hundred" - a fictional paint relating to the (more than) three hundred horses that power the Christen Eagle 1 Downloaders note - this paint goes in the Christen Eagle I folder |
Guess what folks... It's another fictional repaint from the EagleSkinner paint factory. This one is for the CE2 |
There is a change from here on in! All my repaints from here on in will contain a revised set of bumpmaps and some will include "Cubic Environment Chrome maps" - these dictate how reflections are shown withing FSX. READ the download information for each new texture to check the areas that the Cubic maps represent. If you do not like the ones within the downloads, simply delete them from the aircraft texture folder and you revert to whatever you have in the FSX texture folder. The filename is "GlobalEnvTest.dds" |

OK... here we go again. This time I am offering a silver-skinned Eagle. A fictional repaint to demonstrate the new bumpmaps. The new cubic environment map is based on the area around Plum Island (2B2) in Summer. |
OK... here is the second new Eagle with new bumpmaps - it pretends to be Colin Hampson's Pitts special. You will notice, therefore, that I have taken a couple of small liberties with the tail The new cubic environment map is based on the area around Plum Island (2B2) in Summer. |

Number three based on the new bumpmaps. This one is an Argentine registered two seater. LV-X352 The new cubic environment map is based on the area around Plum Island (2B2) in Summer. |

A Fictional paint for trekkies The new cubic environment map is based on the area around Plum Island (2B2) in Summer. |

A real world paint created with kind help from the owner - Ken Bowen, take a bow for having such a beautiful livery! The new cubic environment map is based on the area around Plum Island (2B2) in Summer. CAVEAT - the real N540ET has a few modifications, which are not possible or easy to create in "just" a paint, but I have made this texture as close to real as possible - try spotting these little goodies... |

FOUR "EAGLECAMS" I heard the murmurings and decided to create some new viewpoints to add to the Eagle - here are four typical viewpoints where owners have place their eagle eyes to film the thrillseekers... All
you need to do is copy the text in the document linked below and paste
it after the last aircraft block that begins with[fltsim.xx] and before
the block that begins with: |
A fictional paint with "Spartan" running as central theme. It is nothing special in the slightest, just a "knock-up" that turned out alright. Good enough to release to you eager downloaders. This one would represent a standard real paint with a definite Greek feel. |
After I did the paint above, I thought to myself "Hey, isn't ancient bronze all pitted and lumpy?" So basically this is a repeat of the previous paint without the Greek flag but WITH a severe dose of bumpy bronze effect. Again - sheer fiction and just for the hellofit... |

Kurt Haukohl of MuscleBiplane.org fame approached me on this one. Actually, he was curious to see what it might look like for real, so I did... The new cubic environment map is based on the area around Plum Island (2B2) in Summer. Slideshow |

There is a real-world plane that carries this livery - but it is a Pitts. Nevertheless, the real-world owner of the livery copyrights, Mister Kevin Kimball, has given me permission to recreate his livery on the Eagle (full details in the readme) This livery was especially interesting because it uses flip-flop colours ranging from a golden tint, through the greens to blue. There are only two shades of green in the base paint - you've got to fly this in "Instant Replay" to really see the effects working... Slidehow

This beautiful little Eagle II is owned by Ben Lovering and Richard Goodwin who have kindly given permission for this livery to be made available to you. Please read the readme for full copyright details. What makes thís livery especially interesting is that its release coincides with first flight of the livery and the sponsor logos. Slideshow
